In my spare time I like to keep my hands busy. In the summertime I find myself knitting new wash cloths for my kitchen. Bright colors seem to jump into my basket when yarn shopping. I save them for when the weather turns gray and dreary (usually end of October or November). Then when I bring them out I remember sitting out in the backyard on sunny days watching the little ones play in the pool. I feel like I've knitted summer into my life somehow.
A few done - I may do a few more before baby arrives

Hi Simply,
Thanks, I picked the easiest pattern to do cuz there's no counting. I got my yarn at Michael's and Wal-mart. I don't go to either place very often but if I'm in the area I stop to pick some up.
Mom of lots
I thought I recognized that "triangle" pattern from your baby blanket???
I'm gonna go and see if our Wal-mart has any new colors :o)

I love the idea of looking at these washing clothes in the dreary rainy time of the year and remembering a summer day when they were knit! They are so pretty and colorful! I have been given washcloths that someone knit before and have never used them to wash anything...I couldn't bring myself to use them and ruin the hard work put into them! Now that I am learning a little bit more about crocheting and knitting I am realizing that for a knitter these are ok to be used because a new one can always be knit again!
Hope you are having a great day to day...it is trying very hard to be sunny!
Hi Simply,
Yup, Same super easy pattern. I'm trying to teach myself a new one but I need time to learn it where I'm not distracted because it involves counting (I really need to learn to crochet!!). I found a new color that I am using right now that is a mix of coral pink green and yellow. It's very bright but I know I will really appreciate it later!!
Hi Ross',
I really didn't like using my cloths at first but now I love them because they work so much better than the store bought. I am going to try to set the dye in these cloths before I use them this time by soaking them in vinegar. My old ones faded really badly. The kids have some friends over so they are all happy.

I can always teach you :o) Are you gonna be at the home school center on Fridays???
~simply~

I'm there Thursdays and Fridays this year!! I'd love to learn!! I've tried to teach myself but it didn't go to well!! Have a great weekend!!
